MSCP believes in investing in our employees. Our goal is to help them develop technical and leadership skills that will help us provide excellent job quality and exceptional customer service.
That’s why we created MSCP School. Our dedicated, in-house training program provides our employees hands-on education by industry professionals in maintenance, engineering, and construction.
Participants earn proficiencies in the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical heat trace (EHT) products and insulation envelopes of multiple manufacturers.
Written and practical examinations are completed at the end of every module. Testing records are open for auditing by our clients for complete openness and transparency.
MSCP School is only available to current MSCP employees.
Nowhere else will you get a trained, expert team as knowledgeable and proficient in heat management as our MSCP School graduates.

Heat Management Specialist Level 1
Introduction to Heat Management Systems
Upon completion of the Heat Management Specialist Level 1 Training, the employee will have the skills to:
- Thoroughly understand our safety principles
- Understand how a construction team works together to complete a project
- Identify the hazards encountered working around electrical equipment
- Identify the different types of EHT and Insulation used in industrial applications
- Identify the tools and materials used for the construction of heat management systems

Heat Management Specialist Level 2
Installation of Heat Management Systems
Upon completion of the Heat Management Specialist Level 2 Training, the employee will have the skills to:
- Install required materials as per the quality and production standards required by MSCP
- Demonstrate an understanding of the electrical testing equipment used in construction
- Identify incorrectly installed EHT and Insulation

Heat Management Specialist Level 3
Programming, Troubleshooting, and Maintenance of EHT
Upon completion of the Heat Management Specialist Level 3 Training, the employee will have the skills to:
- Program circuits to desired settings laid out in setpoint schedules
- Identify communication types used in industrial applications
- Troubleshoot alarms and demonstrate the ability to identify and repair problems
- Be familiar with the controllers and software used

Heat Management Specialist Level 4
Design and Engineering of Heat Management Systems
Upon completion of the Heat Management Specialist Level 4 Training, the employee will have the skills to:
- Complete field sketches and designs for heat trace and insulation systems
- Calculate heat loss of a system and heat up times
- Understand where to place an RTD and how control modes affect the operation of an HM system
- Design and install HMS systems for large pieces of equipment

Heat Management Specialist - Rope Access
Construction and Maintenance of Heat Management Systems at Height
Upon completion of the Heat Management Specialist Rope Access Training, IRATA trained employees will have the skills to complete the following:
- Removal and installation of heat trace and insulation systems while on rope
- Troubleshooting and electrical testing of heat trace circuits while on rope
- Understand how to safely secure, hoist and lower heat management material, tools and equipment
- How to splice mineral insulated (MI) cables while on rope (applicable for those who have completed MI splice training)

IRATA Rope Access Level 1
IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) is a Rope Access certification that is internationally recognized. MSCP is a member company and has an internal training center we utilize to maintain and upgrade our employees accreditation.
Upon completion IRATA level 1 training employees will have the skills to complete the following under the supervision of a Level 3 Rope Access Leader:
- Able to understand and follow rope access procedures, risk assessment and method statements
- Able to assist in rescue operations and undertake rescue in descent
- Understand the basic rope access equipment and perform pre-use checks
This course is delivered by IRATA certified training partner ‘Structure Group 1037/OT’

IRATA Rope Access Level 2
IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) is a Rope Access certification that is internationally recognized. MSCP is a member company and has an internal training center we utilize to maintain and upgrade our employees accreditation.
Upon completion IRATA level 2 training employees will have the skills to complete the following under the supervision of a Level 3 Rope Access Leader:
- Able to show all the knowledge obtained in Level 1 training
- Assemble and utilize hauling systems
- Complete increasingly complex rigging
- Complete rescues in a variety of situations
To qualify for Level 2 the employee must have 1 year and 1,000 hours of experience as a Level 1.
This course is delivered by IRATA certified training partner ‘Structure Group 1037/OT’

IRATA Rope Access Level 3
IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) is a Rope Access certification that is internationally recognized. MSCP is a member company and has an internal training center we utilize to maintain and upgrade our employees accreditation.
Upon completion IRATA level 3 training employees will have the skills to create, implement and understand rope access procedures, risk assessments and method statements. They will also:
- Able to show all the knowledge obtained in Level 1 and 2 training
- Understand the principles of IRATA internationals safe work system
- Be conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation
- Have a firm understanding of advanced rope access rigging and rescue techniques
To qualify for Level 3 the employee must have 1 year and 1000 hours of experience as a Level 2 and hold a valid first aid certificate.
