Super Mat is a high performance, hydrophobic and flexible blanket insulation material. It is made from E-fiberglass that is impregnated with fluorocarbon resins which make it a dust free alternative to other silica aerogel insulations in the market. Super Mat also has the following fundamental properties for Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) mitigation:
- Hydrophobic – Prevents water ingress and does not retain moisture, significantly reducing the risk of CUI.
- Breathable – Allows moisture vapor to pass through, directing warm, moist air from the pipe surface to the outer edge of the insulation, where it can condense and drain.
- Leachate Free – Leachates have been identified as a contributing factor in the formation of Stress Corrosion Cracking and associated damage mechanisms.
